Welcome
About Me...In 1973 I purchased a young show prospect English Setter. Little did I know what it would lead to...
In 1974 that same dog finished his Canadian championship and was my Junior Showmanship dog. Winning several Junior competitions set me on the road to Special that same dog in 1975. That year Ch. Leighton's Top Choice was #1 English Setter and #10 Sporting Dog. More dogs came and went after titles were completed, and after graduating from a 2 year course with a Veterinary Technology certificate I decided to learn more about being a Professional Handler. I apprenticed with Denis Springer in the U.S. and after a year with him went on to further my skills with Paul Booher in Nevada. Terriers and Sporting dogs became a love, and after two years with Paul I returned to Canada and began handling as a profession. After all this time it is still a passion and a desire to present good dogs in great condition and have them want to show because they are happy! The dogs I have shown have set records - and done so wagging their tails. That's what makes all the hours of work worth it! |
